You Owe it to Yourself!

I had always been in pretty good shape, but with age things start to droop, sag, and roll over that never did when I was younger.  I started to feel worse and worse about my health and my looks, so when I got the invitation in the mail to my 30 year high school reunion, I decided to make a change in my life.  I knew it would be hard and that I couldn’t do it on my own, so I called Leslie to try some personal training sessions.  At first the sessions were difficult for me, and confirmed that I didn’t want to remain in that condition any longer.  Leslie worked with me, teaching me proper form, and designed a program for my pre-reunion shape up.  I told her I wanted look like a “sexy mama” when I walked in to see all my old classmates.  She laughed and reminded me of that goal every time something was difficult for me in our workouts.  We knew we didn’t have much time, so I dedicated myself to my goal and followed everything she told me to do.  I began to see and feel changes within just a couple of weeks of us working together.  I had so much more energy and the aches and pains that I previously had started to go away.  I couldn’t believe how much younger and fitter my body had become, and I realized that I had made an investment in my health, not to impress others, but for myself.  I have been working with Leslie for over a year now, and still appreciate the encouragement, accountability, and fitness education she provides me with every session.  If you aren’t in the kind of shape you once were and want to make a lifestyle change as I did, Leslie can be a great asset in your journey to a fitter, healthier you.

I was at my wit’s end.  I had always been overweight and unhappy with my body.  I had tried it all: fad diets, diet pills, personal trainers, you name it.  Then, while working with another trainer, I met Leslie, another trainer at my gym.  She always seemed so excited about exercise and very knowledgeable while training her clients.  Her ideas were so creative, and I thought maybe she would be able to keep me motivated at this time when I was about to give up on fitness all together.  I politely got rid of my old trainer, began training with Leslie, and right away I began to have a different attitude towards working out and leading a healthy lifestyle.  I began to look forward to our appointments instead of dreading the mere thought of exercise.  She really listened to my feelings and goals and made the workouts fun for me while I saw results.  I never thought my body would change from the way it always looked, but I finally was able to see my muscles again, and shopping for clothes was no longer a depressing chore.  Leslie is an experienced, caring, and inspiring trainer and I would recommend her to anyone who really wants to meet their fitness goals. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first with choosing a female personal trainer.  Not to be sexist, I just wasn’t sure if she would be knowledgeable of the best way to train a male and meet my goals.  I began working with Leslie and at the conclusion of our consultation and first workout I walked out of there feeling like jello and a lot less cocky.  I have been working with Leslie for quite a while now, and she challenges me with every workout.  She is very knowledgeable of the proper biomechanics of resistance training and has taught me so many things that I had been doing incorrectly on my own.  With the proper balance of strength training, cardio, and nutritional guidance, I have gained 13 lbs. of lean muscle, and dropped 9% body fat already.  My body image is so much better that I take my shirt off at the pool without feeling scrawny now!  I’ve even started playing with a basketball league again.  Whether your goal is to gain muscle, lose weight, or train for a specific sport or event, Leslie is experienced in helping you increase your fitness level and I would highly recommend her services to anyone.
